Recommended bank account

Good morning, Can anyone recommend a bank account for NON resident, just until we get our residency sorted out in Spain? Looking for one without monthly fees, and can be quite basic. Currently living in the UK so would need forms downloadable from UK. Flying out on Monday (23rd) can anyone help atall? need to open one to purchase a property we believe. Thanks Helen & Ray

You can open a bank account and put as much money in as you wish. One thing to remember is to open a bank account you will need your NIE number. Without this, as I said you can put in as much money as you like but will not be able to make any withdrawals.

If you are buying, your estate agent can introduce you to a bank and opening an account takes less than an hour. But if you want a free one, just like in the UK you have to commit to paying in a certain amount each month. Our Sabadell account with no deposit requirement will be costing 30/euros a quarter.
