Have a look wise formally transfer wise will save you money.

I have looked at Wise and you do get a better rate. However, I have looked at their reviews and it appears if anything goes wrong there is no one to talk to. Some of the complaints I know were about money laundering where Wise had closed their accounts due to dodgy dealings! With Currencies Direct it's easy enough to pop into their office in Albir should anything go wrong. They are also pleasant to deal with.

Fair enough I’ve only been using them for the last six months no problem yet.

Transfer Wise (name change as mentioned to Wise), is excellent, been using them since they started trading when I was in the Middle East.  Always reply to questions, never had any problem what-so-ever.   Look on the other forum about Transferwise (www.talkquesada.com) lots of recommendation on their as well.    Very handy to have their debit card, lots of members now use this company for their direct debit to utilities companies and shopping.

I used Currencies Direct for my house purchase and they were great - albeit a slightly poorer rate than TW. I too wanted the security of having an office I could pop in to if there were problems.

I now mainly use TW for their better rate but have contacted them once over a transfer delay and their CS was good and dealt with the issue promptly.

Just received the bank statement, charged 10% by BBVA ☹️ for the Wise transfer.  Need to find an alternative option...

Something wrong there. Did you transfer from a Wise Euro account with BE IBAN or direct from a GBP Wise account?
