That maybe the case and if they are entitled to remain here and do e everything g legally then I do t see a problem. I would imagine judging by your past posts you wouldn’t have a problem this scrutiny being reciprocated by the Spanish authorities. As you often say if you do everything legally in Spain then you have nothing to worry about, and the ones flouting the law deserve everything they get

Thank you I thought I had read €2400 a month hope not

We are hopefully flying back out on 24 March and are trying to get our residency then.  We have been to!d by the person who is helping us to do it that as my husband receives state pension he has to have it paid into our Spanish bank account  and it must be 800€ plus per month  - which we have arranged to be done - and then have at least 7,000€ in the Spanish bank account for me as I don't receive state pension yet.  We hope to get this sorted by the end of the year as if 2,400€ per month (as we have heard) will be needed after then, we won't get residency as we don't get that much per month!

Latest reports at present are €900 per month, or a bank balance of €7000, per person, maintained for at least three months.

After the end of the transition period, it all depends on what the Brexit joint committee decide. The best case scenario is that the above requirement will continue. The worst case scenario is ~€2400 per month....

...

I don't know many in spain who earn 2400€ a month take home    , just seems excessive and over the top,

Think you got that a bit wrong , 3 million eu citizens have been given citizenship has long as they applied,  the 100 working for my company have been given the right to remain.

Hi police stated yesterday in Valencia that from Friday 13.3.2020 an amount of €40,000 each is required in your Spanish bank account and extra paperwork will be also required. any residency issued now expires on Dec 2020 unless the new rules which will be issued in April (the police could not tell us what they are yet) are followed. The updated guidewill be posted on the police website in April.

I'm not disputing it, but do you have a link for that information? If so, it would be useful to follow for later updates.

It sounds like the police are being pessimistic about the outcome of the joint committee negotiations, the first meeting of which is scheduled for 31st March, but may be delayed because of Coronavirus.

Hope you're joking!  A lot of people will not be able to afford that!

What has the police got to do with it I thought the goverment decided how much you need in the bank
