Hi if you have a 1.5m dish then but a humax freesat box gives you all the uk freesat channels and you can record

Best to have 3 feeds from your dish a double lbnto get the most out of the box

You will only get two feeds from a double (twin), LNB, not three!

If you want three feeds, you need a quad LNB

Eh?

The Sky guide on a Sky box lists all the UK channels available on the UK TV satellites!

Channels start from 100 all the way up to 999, and then 0100 to 0200 for radio.

UK TV channels on Sky are not available on only two numbers - 801 and 803!

And you do not need a Sky card to receive channel like BBC ITV C4 Five... you have not needed a viewing card for BBC channels for over 10 years now!

And on a Sky box 801 is not allocated (as the SD / HD swap for BBC 1 for 101 is 115), and 803 is the reverse of 103, (ITV1 SD or ITV1 HD).

Ah right, apologies, probably as you are using a viewing card from Ireland, Wales or Scotland, allocating the HD version on 101, and so 801 is used for the SD versions... use a sky card with an English region and it does not do this as 801 is not used as the HD version is on 115. That said, look in the 950s and you can see all the other BBC regions anyway...

But for people with a sky box without a card, or a England regional card, I am correct as 801 is not used.

Erm, yes you can get BBC 1 HD and ITV 1HD in Spain via satellite. You always have been able to get it... you just need the right sized dish (so called 1.4m in your area), with a decent LNB, correctly aligned. Whoever told you that you cannot get HD in Spain is not up to speed about such things! Watching BBC1 HD via satellite as i type...

Hi, not really sure of the size, but its massive.  Not sure of the direction, its just where it was when we got here.  Did pick up all of the Spanish channels.  Thanks

You'd said nothing about a dish in your post so that was the thrust of my question, "connected it to what", can't really think why you thought that a terse "to the TV" was an appropriate answer to that ?

Along with what others have said you cannot discount the very real possibility that while the dish may be somewhere near reasonably aligned  the LNB and/or cable could be goosed. My advice - get a pro in.

The argument on which channels you get on which numbers can depend on which type of Sky box you're talking about, also the earlier statement that a Sky box will only boot up if receiving signals from the correct satellite does not apply to older single tuner boxes (and possibly early Sky+ non HD) which will start up regardless but simply report 'no signal'.

The lack of channels like Dave, Quest, etc. is the difference between using a 1.4m dish as opposed to a 1.8m, as is the reliability of reception in the rain.
