Hi there,

I'm in Villamartin - I subscribe to TV Horadada (Avatel) for internet & TV - my internet is fine but I cannot get any TV programmes at all. I've phoned the company and they tell me it is a general problem due to the recent rain storms and engineers are working on it, but they cannot say when it will be fixed. I'm just wondering if others are having the same problem?

If it's true, of course watching TV is far less important than the dreadful problems people must be facing following the storms & I'm happy to wait it out - but I was told something different the other day when I called them, so I'm just wondering if I'm getting the right information.

Thanks, Cally

We were told a similar story 2 weeks ago - last week we did start to have access to some channels, but are now back in uk until mid October - when fingers crossed it may be back to normal

Sounds like they've been caught in the fall out from the recent raids on IPTV services and are struggling to connect to alternative sources.

If you've got internet then almost certainly blaming it on the storms and floods will be less than the truth.

They are not alone though but when, or if, it ever comes back fully is anybody's guess.

Not all IPTV services were affected in the same way, some never went off at all while others experienced only minor interruptions of up to 24 hours or so.

In the end changing provider might be your only option but that said I suspect the raids may have fundamentally changed the 'whack-a-mole' game that IPTV is and that interruption or temporary if not permanent loss of service may become more common and frequent than they already were.

I know nothing whatsoever about Avantel but if they have a physical shop somewhere then an anonymous visit as a prospective new customer to see if they have TV available there might prove informative.

Don't decommission those Sky dishes yet !

Thanks very much for your reply, I'll do as you suggest and see what they say when I enquire as a new customer!

Thank you for replying - yes I've lost all channels, when I try to programme (auto or manual etc) it just says no programmes found - I can't get anything, Spanish or UK.

I am also with TVhoradada and over the past few weeks the system has been up and down so many times. I have emailed them and also went to the shop at the Boulevard but I am told they are having problems and are trying to sort it out.

Many thanks, this forum is so very helpful!

I just wasn't sure if it's just me being useless with technology (computers, mobile phones, even TV's!!) and maybe something very simple would "fix" programming my TV.... or if there really is an issue receiving programmes from TV Horadada at the moment.

It all worked fine when I signed up back in May this year (new TV, new subscription with TV Horadada etc., in a new build apartment) but when I cam over last week from UK it was all off - internet and TV.

First issue was that TV Horadada said I'd been cut off because no direct debits for Aug/Sept were received (I'm taking this up with bank as not sure why!!)  so I paid up to date via credit card - including a fee to "re-connect" - then the internet worked fine (and continues to be fine) - but still nothing at all on TV programmes. I've followed every possible attempt at programming, but it always comes up "no programmes found".

I'm going today to try a visit to the place in La Zenia Boulevard where I signed up with them, to see if I get any joy. If not I'm going to try phoning again Monday to see what they say if I ask for a technician. (The property rental company who are renting my apartment out advised me to ask for a technician)

I'm going back to UK next week and have someone renting my apartment over the next few months, so am hoping to sort it out before I go. (I will ask about partial refund as well as surely they can't charge the full month subscription if they can't provide TV channels, especially if it continues).

If this IS all due to the terrible rains, they I feel bad to even be complaining/mentioning it, as it's so trivial compared to all the serious problems people are having; but if it isn't, then it would be great to resolve it before I go. I would think about changing to another provider, but again that's difficult when I'm only here for about a week now.

(Thanks everyone for your replies, this is the first time I've posted on this forum although I've been reading it for a few months, and it's so very useful and helpful!)  :)  :)

Have you unplugged everything from the sockets and then started again? Mine needed a reboot.
