Has anyone heard how the health service in Spain will "call" individuals for their vaccinations & where the vaccination centres are going to be?

Hi,

there is a good article in El Pais about the vaccination program for Spain. In the UK we have been told not to contact the NHS they will contact us. We do get regular missives from our GP surgery over such things as flu jabs, bowel cancer screening, health checks, etc.  - is that how the Spanish health system operate?  If so then they will do it by invite I would expect.

Note that the EU have not approved any vaccines yet but they have brought forward the meeting to review them to the 21st December, from the 29th Dec mentioned in the El Pais article.

No it's up to us to get in touch with the health centre for test results, flu jabs etc. If that's how it will be, it will be chaos as we cant go to health centres because of covid.

Perfect storm brewing me thinks.

It has been possible to visit health centres ever since the start of this situation - at least you have been able to where I live.   However, you have not been able to just walk in but have had to wait outside until a nurse comes out and then advise him/her what you require.   They then either let you in, if you have an appointment, or they go in to sort out what you require.   If it is to obtain an appointment then they arrange for your doctor to phone you, if it is for treatment by a nurse (by prior appointment) then they take your temperature, sanitise your hands and tell you where to go inside but this is only when the required number are waiting inside the health centre by the treatment rooms.

The place that you are not supposed to go to direct is the hospital.
