Can Spaniards own a UK?

Hi all, I am resident in Spain for over 15 years.  Around 13 years ago I imported a Toyota Land Cruiser 80 (recognised as the last true off road vehicle) from the UK and matriculated it.  Sadly due to ill health I am going to have put it up for sale here in Spain.

I know I can sell all the off road equipment to a Spaniard, but can a Spaniard purchase my car bearing in mind it is right hand drive?

Regards

Dave

If course they can, why ever would you think otherwise?

Which side the wheel is on is totally irrelevant.

Hi and thanks for the quick reply.

The reason I asked was a couple of friends I knew had a mixed marriage, as in he was English and she is Spanish.  This allowed her to drive his UK RHD car on Spanish plates.  Alas he passed away but she kept the car, upon being stopped by the Guardia at a spot check a year or so later there was some confusion as to whether she was entitled to own and drive a RHD UK vehicle, but somehow the EU was involved and that was that.  She continued to drive the car until it's demise.  She purchased a new Spanish car and that was that.  But now the UK is no longer part of the EU I wondered if anyone had genuine knowledge about my original question?

Regards

Dave

Mixed marriage has no more to do with it than which side the wheel is on, where do these absolutely bonkers ideas come from?

If a car is Spanish regged and insured subject only to possible young driver restrictions anyone can drive it.

Maybe getting confused as a Spanish resident cannot drive a UK registered car except under a few conditions. Nothing to do with which side the wheel is on.

Hi and thanks for your reply.

She speaks perfect English so there was no understanding on either side at the time.

Even if it was correct at the time I wondered if Brexit had changed anything?

When you come to sell it advertise it here as there is more chance someone will want  RHD car in Spain.

It may help you if you ask on the N332 website which is for English speaking people and deals with anything to do with driving in Spain.   It is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil.
