I have a Spanish car and want to drive to Ireland and UK. I've checked my Insurance policy and its saying I'm not covered for accidents outside Spain.  Anyone any idea how to get cover for 2 weeks ?

Really? My insurance comes with a green card every year which covers me for all European countries including UK. Bit pointless if it doesn't cover you for accidents. Mine is with Linea Directa.

The only thing my insurance won't cover me for in UK is a courtesy car.

Contact you insurance agent (if you used one) or your insurance company direct.  I am insured with Caser, their policy, like L.Direct's, covers EU, UK, I thought this standard cover for insurers but perhaps not.

Are you a Spanish resident? If so, there should be no problem.

By EU law all car insurance policies must provide minimum 3rd party cover for their entire duration, I suspect therefore that you are misreading yours and what it actually says is that own damage is not covered.

If indeed it does say you are not covered at all then it's an illegal clause which cannot be enforced.

I think it is, suggest the OP contacts the company he is insured with, before looking for alternatives.

Cheers, J
