Hi,

We used Edi rent a car when we last came over, as it was recommended on this forum - just type in Edi rents a car Spain in google and it will come up.

Met at the airport by very nice man (no queuing at a desk) very good service, I recommend, if I remember rightly all their very reasonable  prices are shown on their website.

Hope this helps

Paddy

Hi

Car Insurance. We get ours from the RAC in the UK for hiring abroad it can cover up-to 45 days each trip last for a year, but if going for longer than for 45 days you will pay more ours is £45.00 for the year we last used it in December 2019 ,and we have renewed for this year,  we just showed at the desk no problem just have to leave the usual deposit go on the RAC web, also you need an International pass from post office £5,50 take driving license and a passport photo tried to tell me it’s  not needed  ,but on the rentals sights not all of them but some ,its hidden away , if not in the EU we need one  and its not expensive,

Get yourself the best deal through autoeurope or rentalcars.com or similar and get yourself an annual excess insurance cover for about £30 and tell the hire company where to go when you collect and they try and upsell you there own insurance.

Same as above , just check the car and take photos,  before and after , I always use wiber,  and take there full insurance,  I usually pay around €200 for decent car , have noticed there prices have gone up.

Hi

Try questor insurance.

I used them and paid £40 for the year to cover any rental insurance in Europe.

The Spanish rental company will tell you it doesn’t cover everything but if you read the questor, it covers everything. I’ve paid about £30 a week in spain to rental company , they don’t like it as they make their main commission from insurance

I wish I could say the same for Centauro.

They knew what scuff they were looking for on my hire car return, dropped straight on his knees to locate it, I know for a fact that I hadn't done that, shame really as I previously had the same opinion as yourself regarding Centauro.

Fortunately I did have my own care hire excess policy, they were quick to reimburse me.

Oddly enough it was the first time that this had happened to me across many rentals in Spain including the more unscrupulous renters, so it was a bit of a shock that it was Centauro.

It leaves you with the feeling that everyone will get caught at some point and therefore I would highly recommend the annual car excess policy.

I always take photos of every part of the car when  I took it back there was a little scuff on the back they said we had done it I said I do not think so and showed him the photo that we had took of it when we picked up the car he soon backed off
