Not really interested in "helpful votes", they don't get the job done.

Steve, sadly not otherwise I might enjoy it.

With the exception of my reconsidered first reply on this thread, all I've done is tried to clarify things for the OP, as there was misinformation introduced.

Surely the point of this forum, as most others, is to provide accurate answers to questions and this involves correcting incorrect information on occasion, which might make me unpopular with others who believe that they are always right.

If you want to carry on with your childish name calling antics then do so.

I've made my point.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Kimmy, how many?

I've acknowledged that my first might have been better, what other ones are there please?

The original poster was asking about the requirements of the driving licence. You went on to dismiss all other helpful comments and went on to give advice about the legalities of living in Spain.  I.e. the residencia, taxation etc which the op didn't want to know about as they are up to date on that. Please read the original post. None of us need your sarcasm.

So long as you don't exceed 183 days in Spain in any one tax year (1st January to 31st December), you can retain your UK driving licence (if you should exceed 183 days, then the 2 year countdown begins, because you go from having Extranjeros listing to Fiscal resident).

This was the passage that could quite easily have confused the OP or anyone else who isn't familiar with things .

Once again, I merely tried to separate the three different topics that had been thrown together (probably well intentioned) so that there was some distinction between them. The OP had mentioned 183 days and I thought it would be helpful to them, and again others who might read this, to know that 183 days is not a cut off point for Licences, neither technically is being a fiscal resident.

I do hope that you can grasp this, however, if I'm incorrect in anything please let me know in order that I don't perpetuate incorrect information

Thanks Nicola. Who would have thought asking one simple question could be so complicated. If spending 182 days in Spain in one tax year do I need to change my UK driving licence to a Spanish one. Bearing in mind I will have residencia and a Spanish plated car.
