Hi, my wife and I have recently moved to the Villamartin Plaza area, and lovely as it is, notice that the area around it could do with a good tidy most weeks.

Would anybody be interested in forming a litter-picking group to do a tidy and then go for a beer or two after, so it's a social thing as well?

We thought this might be a nice way to meet new people and do our bit for the environment as well. What do you think?

Kind regards,

Pam & David

Great idea,I’m not out until March but I would certainly chip in for a couple of hours if it becomes a regular thing.

Hello, fantastic idea and totally agree, and if everyone did a bit I’m sure it would be a lot better. Unfortunately not around all the time but we’re happy to help when there 👍🧹

We spend half the year in Ireland, where every area has community groups that do this and look after the general environment.

We said that when we settle on our area to buy, we will try and do the same as you.

Where we are, some people have a pick-stick and bag while walking their dogs on the beach, as we have a lot of tourists and debris also gets washed in by the sea.

If we were in to your area, we would join you.

It improves house prices to have a nice tidy area, people just have more pride in the area.

Best of luck.

Hi Pam & David

Great idea. We live about 1/2 mile away on La Calle Traviata and spend quite a bit of time on our street and surrounding area tidying around - it make  such a difference. We are back again 29th Jan for a couple of weeks and again the first two weeks in March -  would be pleased to join in - not used this forum before and not sure how to make direct contact for arrangements.

Hi m8 we live on calle tomas breton,  opposite plaza , I've been busy picking up around waste land near carpark, the amount of broken bottles and glasses over xmas was incredible,  wish I had proper grabber for cans etc ,  most unusual article was leopard print knickers , lol. Would be nice to get community involved.

Hi, thanks for your kind message. We have had other people wanting to help, so our intention is to maybe set up a little WhatsApp group (if we can work out how to do it!), so we can get together and have a clean and a beer.

We'll be back in touch when we have contacted everybody to see if this is ok.

What do you think?

Kind regards,

Pam & David

Hi, thanks for your kind message. If you are ever in the Villamartin Plaza area, look us up. We'd be delighted for you to join our little group for a clean and a beer.

Kind regards,

Pam & David

One thing I have noticed,  is how full the community bins keep getting on calle tomas breton, most off it is commercial waste from the shops restaurants etc, think the reason for this is the bins what were near plaza have been taken away , hence more rubbish near plaza as well , perhaps they need reinstating!
