Hi! Around 50 Eu/month depending size of apartment and location. Its cleen alright, but almost 30 years so a bit ”scruffy” but nice. Some owners rent out; mostly summertime when it quite noisy by the pools, the rest of year very quiet and calm.

/ Regards Lisa

Hi All,

i have just stumbled across this forum whilst doing research! very helpful! my husband and i have seen an apartment here online that we want as a little investment, and for ourselves / friends & family to use.

we are from the UK and not bought abroad before, so we're researching a solticitor - does anyone have any reccomendations?

also, any update on this property on fees, taxes and monthly running costs like water / electricity?

do you guys cover your monthly costs with holiday lets or rentals?

how easy is it to get from either Murcia / Alicante airport? by car, bus or car hire - also is it costly?

with coronavirus we plan to fly out as soon as we can to view but any help an tips would be greatly apprciated!

Thanks

Jenny

Hey Jenny!

I’d highly recommend buying here! We used Bodil solicitors based in villamartin plaza, and I can’t recommend them enough, they were super helpful and handled everything for us. I’m not sure on the fees but I think it’s around €600 per year. In the year since we’ve purchased, they’ve tiled one of the pools and put up security gates in the complex so it’s nice to see where the money is going.

We personally don’t do holiday lets, as we travel over at least six times a year so it just wouldn’t work for us, but I have seen some of the apartments in the complex on Air BnB and booking.com so there’s probably a good income from it.

We always fly into Alicante as our nearest airport doesn’t fly to Murcia, and a taxi to the complex costs us €60 with Clyde Grove Golf. They’re super friendly people, and always reliable. They also have a mini bus so it’s convenient if you have a crowd or a lot of luggage.

There’s a couple of pubs/restaurants just down the road, and the complex is within walking distance of villamartin plaza so car hire isn’t necessary. The complex is very quiet, and safe, and we love it.

Let me know if you have any more questions and maybe we’ll see you around in the future!

Hi

Thank you so much for your help, ill definitely be contacting that solicitor, do you remember roughly how much everything cost upfront? I. E. 8% tax, solicitors fees, NIE etc?

Also how much water electricity cost and how do you go about setting that up?

We're just figuring out of we can afford it all with these fees on top as cash buyer rather than mortgage it.

Whats it like negotiating offer too, xan you go in say 10% below asking, or do they pretty much go for asking price. They are really well priced.

Thanks again xxxx

Not sure about up front costs as I can’t fully remember, but we got our NIE numbers sorted at the Spanish embassy here in Ireland as it was quicker than getting them sorted in Spain. Bodil’s sorted the setting up of water/electricity for us too, as it was just transferred into our names instead of the previous owners. They cost roughly between €30-€40 for both per month when we’re not there.

We went in at 10% below asking and our offer was accepted so I would definitely try, they’ll come back with a counter offer if they don’t accept it.

We also use Sabadell for our banking if you’re looking for recommendations, the staff are really friendly, and their internet banking app is easy to use. We got the apartment insured through them too.

Not sure what type of insurance we got, we just told the bank what sort of apartment it was haha

Think it’s roughly €190 per year
