Hi all,

Looking at having 16 light and power sockets replaced with white ones as currently they are gold/bronze and bit ropey, mixture of single, double and triple units, anyone have any idea as to what an estimate for the total cost including materials might be.

Thanks

Depends how far the tech guy is travelling

Should be circa 100 euro imo for labour

Leroy Merlin have a huge range of socket styles to choose from

Hi

I can recommend AMPS https://www.facebook.com/ampselectricaldaniel/

They've done a number of jobs for me and are incredibly efficient. The only downside is that you may have to wait a few weeks because they are always busy!

Price is very reasonable.

Cheers

This could be a nice little d.i.y job to be done when and if you have the time. It may not be completely legal, but its an easy job.

Thanks

If you go onto the Leroy Merlin website you can price up the parts you need, they do a large variety of switches and sockets.

Aitch.

Has anyone got a YouTube how to change the fronts,

I’ve recently changed all my sockets and switches in our home as I am a retired electrician. I found the wiring in Spain ropey, some circuits were wired with the same colours of wires. I would certainly not advise anybody to touch any electrical equipment that they are not qualified to work on. Changing any front face plate can also be problematic as they can be held on by clips, totally different from the U.K. Stick to Leroy Merlin for your requirements, try to steer clear from some of the cheap Chino shops if possible.

Regards

 Jim
