Hello   In the process of purchasing a holiday home bungalow in Blue Lagoon Urb (resale not new).   I may well be a regular poster for queries on here I'm afraid, so apologies in advance!   If anyone could advise, I would be very grateful:

1.  As non residents - what insurance should I be looking at?  Building and Contents or just contents?  Any recommendations?

2.  Reliable trusted Key holders and prices?

3.  Reliable Internet/Wifi companies and are you able to switch off and not be charged when not in use for periods when not there?

4.  Is there a facebook group or Site/discussion area for the Blue Lagoon surrounding area?

5.  Any information/recommendations etc for anything at all around the Blue Lagoon Urb area - don't mind what it recommended all welcome :)

6. Best local place for DIY supplies etc (similar to B&Q/any hardware place)

Really sorry for all the questions, and thanks for taking the time to read or answer     Thank you

Hello, welcome to Villamartin

1. You will need to insure your buildings and contents just like at home - unless you are on an urbanisation which has buildings cover included? Mapfre are a reputable insurance company based in Playa Flamenca ( we use them for our car) but we use a company called Intasure based in U.K.

2. A good company based in Villamartin for keyholding services are Perfect Home Cleaning Services (FB page) they are reliable and a legally set up business.

3. We use Avatel for TV and Wi-Fi - maybe useful to check with your neighbours for who they use? Whilst Avatel do a stop start service, we didn’t think it was wort( it for the hassle.

4. & 5 - not in Blue Lagoon so can’t help you with this!

6. Leroy Merlin at Zenia Boulevard is t( equivalent of B& Q

good luck with your move

Hi

3. we are very close and use Vega Fibre (easy installation and great after service from their office in San Miguel). I pay monthly-works out not much difference and no hassle knowing it’s always available

4. there Is a Facebook page Blue Lagoon community that you can join and I’m fairly certain the urbanisation have a group WhatsApp page.

5. You have loads of local bars. Kirby’s (previously wolfies) and Illys and Captain Morgans all have weekly quizzes and different events.( Great food and in particular Sunday lunch in Captain Morgans) Bar Twenty two is just across the street and the new Marimba Blue Pool bAr is lovely (it’s lovely at night!).

Loads going on but each pub has a Facebook page-worth checking out and the quizzes are a great way to get to know people particularly in the winter when it’s all the long term residents

Good luck

Deirdre

Hi 1969ned,

For home insurance, I'd recommend Liberty Seguros - we have home and car insurance with them.  They are very competitively priced, but of course, most importantly, they are very responsive when we've had to make claims.  We bought our Liberty Seguros policies through Jennifer Cunningham agents.

Kind regards,

Kim

3. We use avatel. Prices may have changed. After set up we pay €4.99 pm when not in use and €29.99 pm when using. Note that they use calendar months.

On and off is done by filling in two dates and emailing them . I think it’s worth it for €25 savings.
