Hi
We have an apartment in Vilamartin and wondered if anyone could recommend an agent to take care of the leasing for me?
Cheers

What do you mean by 'leasing'? If you mean renting, do you mean long-term residential let or holiday lets?
If long-term let then there are several estate agents in the area who are also letting agents.
If you mean holiday lettings then you will need a Tourist License before you, or an agent, can let it as a holiday let. Do you have one?

Does your property have Tourist License already? If not you cannot do holiday letting, with or without an agent. Holiday letting without a License is illegal and you can be heavily fined.
If you do have your Tourist License then I am sorry but cannot recommend any agency as we have always managed the advertising and bookings ourselves with a registered keyholding company for check-ins and cleans. It is an option worth considering. Some owners do use agents but the extra charged by an agent would cut into profit (as I am a UK resident so Spanish tax is high and agency fees are not tax deductible).

Go to Compass/ James holidays in Los Dolses mall. Speak to Rebecca/ Zoe. Both very helpful people with a good ethos. Faye

As our forum expert on Tourist Lets has said, you need a licence.
First you have to get authorisation from the Community. They may agree with no restrictions or charge higher community fees or refuse outright. If they refuse there is no appeals process.
Then you need to get a Compatability Certificate from the Town Hall. There are minimum requirements for room sizes and facilities and the Town Hall could decide they have enough Tourist Lets already or could require confirmation from a vote at the Community AGM.
Then you have to get the actual licence from Alicante, register with the local Guardia Civil for guest's passport details to be recorded and get a plaque indicating the property is a tourist let.
You will need to pay tax quarterly at 24% if you are non-resident here, so add a tax advisor's fees as well. There are no allowances for expenses so all maintenance, renewal of linens, repairs, key holder, etc will need to be accounted for in your rental charges. Guests will rarely consider the running costs of air conditioning and electric prices here are very high.
You can't even advertise before you have the licence and if you don't you risk huge fines and your guests could be turned out on the spot by the Guardia Civil. Expect any change of use to be reported by neighbours.
Countries around the world are reacting to the rise of holiday lets and it is rumoured that some holiday let owners never used to pay tax!

Hi
I already have a tourist license just incase anyone else wants to jump on the lecture bandwagon but I do appreciate advice. All I wanted was recommendations for an agent to handle this.
cheers

Liz, that was a key piece of information you omitted there so please don't reward people who are trying to help by accusing them of lecturing you.

People were trying to help but you were asked directly if you had one and didn't answer the question. Your original post was also unclear in meaning, so clarification was requested. No one jumping on a lecture band wagon at all.

I have an apartment in Villamartin Plaza, and my agent, Casey Shaddock, will be glad to help.
Her mobile is 0034649012184
Hope this helps.
Good luck,
David
