Changing UK vehicle to Spanish plates

My husband has a motor scooter with UK plates and wants to change over to Spanish.

Can anyone advise how he does it?

Unless it is a rare/expensive or has sentimental value it may not be worthwhile. Since brexit there is an import duty to pay which can be up to 30% of what the Spanish value it at, which is generally a lot more than it would be in the UK.

I was offered two English bikes for free, a scooter and a large Honda tourer by a neighbour who has sold his house here but was unable to get out due to the restrictions, when I looked into it it was cheaper for me to buy the same bikes already Spanish registered than it was to transfer them onto Spanish plates. They are both sat in my garage waiting for him to arrange for them to be collected.

Is the scooter currently MOT'd? If it isn't then you won't be able to transfer it onto Spanish plates. We had to get a move on when we brought my wife's car over last year.

We used Leigh (male) at the above company to do both that and mine after I had it transported over. The cost has gone up as the poster above says since the UK left the EU.
