Just thought I would share our experience with the forum.
Arrived by car early March for a 3 week holiday in Villamartin. We then stayed for 6 weeks due to the Lockdown.
My husband needed to return to the UK so we set off Sunday morning.
We had researched and had Attestations and copies of our Eurotunnel return with us and set off with a large plug in cool box.
Motorway services in Spain were open for fuel - no food, drink or toilets available in the 8 services we tried.
Drove through Spanish border and were then stopped by the Police 2 miles into France at the first toll by French Police - big presence, lots of blue flashing lights. Passport, Attestation checked, we were then cheerily waved on with a "Safe journey and Good Luck"
All Motorway services in France were open for fuel, hot and cold food, and the toilets were open.
We had booked a 2pm Eurotunnel journey, arrived at Calais 1130 and were put on 1220 train.
Just wanted to share our experience of returning to the UK during these difficult times.
Also, driver in front, passenger in the back.
