Which beaches? If you're talking of Orihuela Costa then there is still a problem with the chiringuitos and contracts being applied. The council stated "by Easter" but contracts haven't yet been agreed (like last year) so may take some time.

The lifeguards should be in place for the Easter week at the end of this month.

Torrevieja and Guardamar beaches with sunbeds and parasols due to open next week.

Thank you, you would have thought the council would have got its act together by now.

Yes, agree with you but that’s not how they work!  We were left without loungers and parasols on the La Mata beach a couple of years ago. Lots of beach chairs on Guardamar beach at that time but none on ours

I also remember the fantastic beach bars at  Punta Prima which were open off season. We used to pop over there for a walk and stop and relax on the lovely ratten  seats. One beach bar also had some live music. It was delightful. Anyway, they were all shut down and taken away and never seen again. Why? WHO knows !  The mind boggles.

According to the article in Murcia Today (dated 6th March) the beach bars will not be open for Easter.

That is according to PSOE, who ran the council until last May's elections. Is it a surprise?

Rgds,

Aitch.
