"Can you tell me can you get your food shopping delivered in Spain?"

There are supermarkets here that do deliver your shopping straight to your door. More so now with the Covid problem. You will need to ask about local to where you live.

Steve

Even though we have a Mercadona within walking distance they don't deliver to our area!

It's not like being able to get groceries via deliveroo from the Co-Op or Morrisons within 30mins

Hi

Yeah to be honest Rob we have found the same with Costa Blanca homes in Spain. They have overcome an issue we had which has saved us money so to tar everyone with the same brush is wrong. There are some genuine people but you just have to do your homework.

We were the same, used Imno Investments for our purchase of our property earlier this year. They did everything for us, translation, notary, set up bank direct debits, wills and a year support. We gave them power of attorney as we couldn’t be in the country at the time of the sale. Totally happy with their services and the costs involved. This company was recommended by a friend, which is always a good pointer in my humble opinion.

Hi Jim

Yeah we’ve been told we could be waiting 6 months on a tourist license but we have a lawyer who has a spare registration no that we can use meantime. In saying that we’re not expecting to rent it out this year because of the Covid restrictions.

Good to hear about the health service. Do you pay for prescriptions in Spain? We get them free in Scotland and I’m on a bit of medication.

"Spare registration number" - NO SUCH THING!  I am sorry, but you have been led up the wrong path regarding the Tourist License and holiday letting regulations.

The property itself is issued the license number, it is not transferable to another property.  If a property has a license number then it stays with the property when sold and can be put into the name of the new owner.  A license number in our area is VT-(6numbers)-A so eg VT-123456-A.

Registered rental agencies have their own number but they cannot let out unlicensed properties either.  Depending on where you have bought, 6 months may be very optimistic.

If you are caught renting to the short-term holiday market without a license you can be fined a five figure sum (not counting the cents!) so please do not do it.

Bear in mind that to let a property legally the guests passport/ID details need to be registered with the Guardia Civil, to do that you have to have a license.  You also have to pay tax every quarter - after the end of transition that will be 24% on the gross rental (unless, by some miracle, a deal is done).

You cannot even advertise legally until you have your property's Tourist License.  Your rental insurance won't be valid unless you are doing things legally.

I have no idea who your 'lawyer' is but you certainly need a new one - one that is honest with you.  You are welcome to PM with any questions about licenses if that will help you.

Bev

Hi

I don’t know what you mean by looking at Imno investments?

Certainly didn’t have any problems with Imno Investments to date. All the documentation that I have certainly looks legal-authentic but Ray if you think that the people on the web page are not up to scratch please enlighten us. The testimonials from existing clients seem extremely excellent.

Interesting, Ray. Inmo do conveyancing, and not an abogado in sight.

All the paperwork concerning my property and both our wills were drawn up by a lawyer and stamped accordingly. We had no choice but to give POA as I couldn’t  spend all my time in Spain getting the property sale through, it is only used as our holiday home as I am still working in the UK. The doubting Thomas’s comments on this topic will be discussed with the Imno Investments MD on my return to Spain and I will certainly put up his reply to be fair to everyone. You will always get the chosen few who think they know everything because they have lived in Spain longer than the next one.

‘Their testimonials are those put on by themselves and are worth nothing‘

Ray, Do you stand by your statement above?

Hello I have read your message ref moving to Spain ! well firstly i will say i agree with a Steve.

We have lived here almost 19 years and still are very happy here i have a operation for a nerve pain and the service was very prompt and really quick and was pleased with results and i had many sleepless nights with terrible nerve pain I was only was there a few hours rested 2 hours then home, my hubby has had nothing but very good and special treatment as said quick response not hanging round waiting appointments long time ,so the medical service here to be honest have found much better than UK also other friend who live here are of the same opinion

Ref the dust well i seemed always dusting and cleaning in the UK we do live in a pine forest with only a couple of roads tarmacked and the rest is a little rough but mainly smooth and when it rains when ?? ha ha they go over and smooth it out once more and as for dusting nothing more than i have always expected its a dry country mainly  do hope this helps you take care keep safe best regards for your decision good luck
