I've recently purchased property and I did my FX free of charge via my Revolut card, the rate was always higher that Currency Direct by at least 0.7 cent

I always use Currency Exchange. The service is excellent and easy to use. There are no fees. Cash usually arrive same day once you have paid the sterling amount to them.

Helpful member
Just for info, TorFX came out as the no.1 service on TrustPilot and most others. Good luck.
Definitely TransferWise - transfers go through the same or next day usually, the site is easy to use and the fees are the lowest I have found.

I use Transferwise they are very good, also a Caxton card, load it like holiday debit card you can draw cash no charge, and new customers get £30 free

I use Revolut myself, both private and business after having tested many others.
Transferwise was good or possibly even best for a while but they have raised the cost which makes 'smaller' exchange amounts much less cost-effective.
Just did a quick check for sending £1000 to Euros.
Transferwise = €1169.47
World First = €1155.79
Revolut = €1173.61 (and I think this may even have the extra weekend 'cache' 0.5% extra so should be even cheaper/better tomorrow)
Very clear for me, yet again.

Dear Kim,
I apologise, as I sort of mentioned, I used to use Transferwise and stopped using them about 3 - 4 months ago as they were actually increasing their set fees at that times (which impacted on small amounts more than on more).
That's why I did a medium amount now, just to see what the actual result would be :-)
Certainly check multiple sources when doing a bigger transfer and each must settle on their preferred for the 'day to day' stuff ;-)
Quick new check for £250:
transferwise €290.55
revolut: €291.77
£5000
TW: €5815.56
Rev: €5836.12
And no, I do not have shares in revolut etc just a very satified user as using the in both personal and business enviroment has saved me loads of ahssle and even more money :-)

Transfer wise, being dealing with them since I got here. Give you a good exchange rate and are very easy to deal with.
