Good luck to you Susan. My aunt, lively over 60 lives in Kilkenny, bought in Villamartin area over 2 years ago. She hopes to spend major part of winter there, but hasn't been back since Christmas 2019. She loves it (out of season), and bought a bike, which was barely used. I have stayed with her several times, and we both enjoy a good walk. Might I suggest, if you do decide to go for the Villamartin option, get an electric bike? Expensive to start with, but well worth it. 😉

Ah thanks so much Sheila, I'm also a very young heart 60 year old. Thanks for your opinion on Villamartin, but I think my permanent move will be to Lá Florida or possibly la zenia. Scary and also exciting at the same time, but I'm only over 2 hours away from Ireland if I want visit. My partner owns a holiday home in Santa pola but I want to be amongst an English speaking community as I'll be on my own from time to time. My house has just gone up for sale so once its sold i can start the ball rolling.
