We are thinking of buying in villamartin. My husband has health problems which means he can't walk very far.So we need to be near a bus route and amenities.Where would be the best area please?

If you have been to Villamartin you will know that the sprawling estates are built on hilly ground and if you have any mobility problems that area will be most unsuitable.

There are no bus services within the Villamartin estate roads. The bus services only run on the main through roads. You will more likely have an uphill walk to a bus stop.

Bars and restaurants are a bit sparse and the main town area only has the Plaza (which is ok).

You will probably need a car to navigate the estates for shopping etc.

I agree with the last poster that La Zenia boulevard area or Playa Flamenca would suit you better.

Hi Denise and welcome to the forum.

An area in that locality you could try is the up and coming  Lomas De Cabo Roig .

No steep hills and merely a gentle incline through the area.

A new Shopping and dining out centre completed only a year or so ago . Lots of Restaurants, a traditional Irish pub and plenty of other bars, plus if you like Iceland or Waitrose foods there is an Overseas Supermarket located adjacent to the new Commercial Centre.

Through bus service connecting to Cabo Roig or in the opposite direction through La Fuenta, Villamartin and on to La Zenia Boulevard with all its abundance of shops , eateries etc.

Hope that helps in providing a further option to consider.

Good luck in your search.

The urbanisations of Violetas (off road opposite to Plaza), Valencia’s (off road leading to the Plaza), Verdemar/Villacosta  (handy for La Fuente Commercial Centre). These urbanisations are situated off of bus route roads.  Violetas and Valencia’s are relatively flat.

Would recommend that you come over for a stay, hire a car and drive round, marking on a map the areas you like the best or that are most suitable for your husband, then it makes looking much easier and you can instruct Estate Agents the areas you are interested in.  I attach a map.

Good luck in your search - exciting times!

LeckyLes, reading your post which referred to an Irish pub, I have often wondered why I have never heard someone talking about a Welsh pub or a Scottish pub?
