We’re off to the uk next week and returning a few days later from Gatwick.

What happens to your flights, car hire etc if you get caught by the road closures by the clean air protests

Are you classed as a no show and have to re book and the same as the car hire company and have to pay again

Or are you able to claim off your travel insurance

Too broad a subject for definitive answers so probably unknowable unless it happened.

Personally I'd be closely scrutinising my travel insurance policy to see precisely what it did - and more importantly didn't - cover and asking specific questions if there were any doubts.

I very much doubt any insurance company would cover this type of eventuality. It’s pretty much the same as being stuck in a long traffic jam on the motorway and missing your flight, you wouldn’t be able to claim that back?

Don't know where you're travelling from to get to Gatwick, but can you not just get a train there to avoid any possible blockade?
