Last week in February 2024

We will be a party of eight golfers all + 65 who would appreciate good service, food selection at a reasonable price. Thank you Joe

Not many places open in the Plaza in February, most close for holidays or refurbishment . But what time is “early”?

Cheers Graham Appreciate your reply early for us would be 07.30 > we don't fancy cooking in the apartments and I don't think breakfast will be available at the golf courses we are playing at. Any options or advice would be most appreciated.

Mon Desir does an excellent breakfast, is very clean and would be ideal. It’s a bit further away from the Plaza, as it’s near Villamartin Mercadona, so you’d need transport. Unless you fancy a 3k stroll. It opens at 8am.

Rolos in Los Dolces is another option, but we found Mon Desir of higher quality.

Oops 7.30 is an early start - hope you’ve got your winter woolies with you for playing golf that early!

You’ve mentioned the plaza, I don’t think anything is open at that hour even in the summer season.

Is the plaza the nearest set of bars to where you will be staying as there’s lots of other little commercial centres which could be nearer, but again finding something open so early will be a huge task.  Do you have transport or have you just hired a minibus. The only place I can think off open before 8am  in the whole area is a little cafe doing bacon butties not far from La Finca.

If you name the courses you are playing at, once hubby is back from his golfing trip I can find out what the breakfasts are like at those courses. I know some have a full breakfast menu, but most do toastado.  Kitchens open quite early at the course and most tend to close around  2.30 ish - but  don’t worry the bar will still be open!

Las Colinas and Las Ramblas restaurants open at 7.30

Villamartin  and La Serena open at 8.00 am

He can’t advise the quality of the breakfasts as  he has breakfast  at home before he goes out to play golf.

As well as playing society golf, he regularly has large groups of golfers coming over to play,  most groups tend to stay in Cabo Roig , where there’s a greater choice of restaurants open at that time of year. The Trinity Coffee House in Cabo Roig  advertise they open from 7.00am, but I don’t think any of his golf buddies realise that 7.30  am even exists !!!!.

Milo’s again in Cabo Roig open from 8.30, but as it’s next to one of the main places the golfers stay, they can usually be persuaded to open slightly earlier for a large golf group, as long as they are given advance notice.  But even those recommendations may not be available, as there are a huge number of bars/ restaurants closed in January/February..

So any recommendations for bars/restaurants  you get I would phone or message a few days before arriving just to ensure they will be open.
