Hi,

Is there anywhere in the Villamartin area, or close by, where you can get some real ale? Long shot I know, cos of the heat and being able to ‘keep’ the ale, but just wondered if there was anywhere with an alternative to the usual lagers, and dreaded John Smiths!

I’ve tried the Old Speckled hen in the Sahara in La Fuente but it’s not really up to standard.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Hiya Witherspoons do loads of real ale-they specialise in it. They are near to captain  mirgans(the green pub in corner on way to plaza) but they have a Facebook page. Tried to upload a photo of their ales

Hi Deirdre

Thanks for the reply....yes have tried that place although the beers are more like American craft ales than proper real ale..although they do at least try as you say!

Thanks

I don’t doubt the Spanish stuff is great for lager drinkers, but I’m a beer drinker so would love to sample some Spanish beers, there’s a difference. Lots of countries attempt bottled beers these days, even in Italy...just wondered if any bars locally tried the same.

Hi - I had the same trouble as an ale/beer drinker who doesn’t like lager

CK1 at villa park 3 Los Altos do a bottle of Bishops Finger for about €1.80 and also C Breeze at Playa Flamenca Centre do draught Greene King IPA as do An Sibin (Sin Bin) next to Sunny Corner Playa Flamenca

Also at the citrus centre Calle Limon the Friendly do Tetley Smoothflow on draught

Hope this helps a fellow sufferer 😆

Good luck

Thanks Sharon! Fizzy lager does get a bit ‘samey’ after a few!

Not Villa Martine? but real ale is worth the walk. Murphy's pub via Park 2 sell spitfire. Bassus pub La Zenia sell their own brew Dunkel, Hell & weizen also IPA. Maybe the tastebuds could be tempted with Belgium beers Leffe dark or light☑

Best ive found is to open a can of Amstel Oro, pour into a glass, and leave it to go flat. Been trying to find ale for ages and this is what i came up with, give it a go
