Probably visit your local health centre and ask why not, if you are registered it could be your contact details are out of date?

Yes, definitely an irresponsible approach IMO. Lancelot has summed it up pretty well, wait to a high percentage of the countries population are vaccinated before throwing the borders open. Is Spain really so desperate for tourist income? Really ? This may come back to bite them on the butt, I cer...

...tainly hope not but all pointers towards infection spikes point to high rates of infection where crowds & gatherings of people happen.

Reckless?…. Yes, definitely.

Irresponsibe? .... for sure.

Well said I think most travel should be suspended until at least next year

Hi David,

Any antibodies your system had developed from a Covid-19 infection in March 2020 will no longer offer any protection - estimates are 6 months at best.  More importantly, why haven't you had the vaccine - personal choice, or because you haven't been contacted by your health centre?

Kind regards,

Kim

Just received this update alert from Gov.UK.  Worth noting that, while testing has been suspended for entry to Spain by air, those travelling overseas, via France, are still required to provide a negative PCR test:

Kind regards,

isn't spain being a bit reckless letting tourist in without tests ,they must be pretty hard up to take such risks

I totally agree with you. I am coming to Spain on the 5th June from the uk and was totally in agreement with the negative Covid test although I have had both jabs. I will now be doing a lateral flow test the day before I fly which gives a result within 30 mins just to make sure I am safe and would hope that everyone else in the uk who is coming to Spain can do similar. We have worked extremely hard in the uk to get our Covid numbers down and appreciate that Spain have been doing the same so definitely would not want to cause any problems when holidaying there.  I have a house in Spain so cannot wait to ‘come home’!

Hello Sharon

That's a really nice post & thank you  for the consideration you are giving to us who are resident in Spain, who  are hoping the invasion of many  new arrivals will not impact on us in a negative way.

Not long for you to wait now, hope you have a lovely time here.

Cheers

Any variants are extremely harmful to those not vaccinated. Much of the elderly population here in Spain has been done, with one or two doses but there are many of us 40's and 50's who are waiting still. For this reason it does seem like Spain has thrown caution to the wind on this one. The Spani...

...sh government should have waited for another month or so until % vaccinated increased to acceptable/ safer levels.

The UK seems far more cautious despite having vaccinated so many more of their people. This should set alarm bells ringing here.

Some form of negative covid test before coming into Spain seems safer or evidence of full vaccination, but alas no.

Unfortunately, people who have had their vaccinations are still able to carry the virus and pass it on - but they will, on an individual basis, be protected due to their vaccines. It’s crazy how Spain are letting people in without them being tested for the virus…..

Hi Steve,

it has been reported that covid transmission is reduced by between 40 to 60% from people who had been vaccinated, so it is better but your right that it can still be passed on. I would have preferred that Spain at least asked for a negative test on entry, a covid vaccination certificate would have been an advantage but I can see that there are issues around insisting on one at the moment.

In any event we will be following the usual covid protocols when travelling and when if Spain - mask wearing, social distancing and hand washing (that's assuming we can get to Spain next month!)

Are you happy for holiday makers from other European countries that have high rates of Covid and low rates of vaccinations to come or is it just the highly vacinated Brits you don't want. Free movement is a lynch pin of the EU
