Hi...

I have just been told my non resident tax is due for last year. The amount is less than €17 each for my husband and myself but our lawyer charges us €60 each to fill in the form and file it. So €34 for the taxman and€120 for the lawyer...is this the norm here?

We are resident here and our last actual tax bill was less than half of the total bill from our accountant. So yes, you could call it the norm..

Hi

We used a company called Angar Taxation a number of times before becoming residents.  It was all done over email and cost was 20€ per person on top of any tax due

Very good service

Regards Sharon

Susan

Ask your lawyer to stop filing these forms for you both, that is very expensive.

Sharon's advice is spot on, Angar have been recommended by quite a few posters on this forum, another company that doesn't overcharge is Spanishtaxforms.

Hi Susan,

Yes, it is the norm for lawyers to charge around double for tasks that would be more cheaply done by a gestor.  Angar Taxation Services receive a lot of recommendations from members on here and I would also recommend a company I used, who charge a similar fee to Angar:

Kind regards,

Kim
