Can anyone enlighten me about the tax situation in Spain. My wife and I are considering applying for residencia and are trying to gather as much information as possible. Looking at my personal finances, ir would appear my income tax bill would double in Spain compared to the UK. Can anyone let me know of their experiences of paying tax in Spain.

Depending on your personal circumstances, the income tax-take in Spain can be much higher than in Britain.
My wife and I (between us) pay around twice the tax in Spain compared to the UK.
The sunshine is far from free.

Think about some 22% on your gross income.
