Hi Bermuda58,

Are you Indian citizens?  If so, you have the right to return to your home country.  India has 'air bubble' agreements with 28 countries, including the UK and France, so you could fly to India via either London or Paris.

Alternatively, as Third Country Nationals, you can apply to extend your visa at the Spanish Embassy.  Although this link refers to last year's lockdown, it may offer a precedent that could suggest the authorities might be responsive to an application for a visa extension (but just my personal interpretation):

http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Embajadas/NUEVADELHI/en/Noticias/Pages/Articulos/20200525_NOT01.aspx

However, if you've already overstayed the maximum 90 days, the authorities may be less than sympathetic.  Whichever way you decide to proceed, best to do so without delay.

Good luck!

Kind regards,

Kim

Thanks for your help Kimmy. We are actually U.K. citizens but live in India at the moment so we are not covered under the agreement for Indian citizens to be able to return. There are no flights allowed for anyone else so we are stuck. Costa Blanca News had a number to call which our Spanish friend has done but they can’t tell her anything, told her to look on the ‘foreigners webpage’. That’s why I posted the message to see if anyone knew where to contact.

If you're UK citizens can you not just return to the UK until you can fly to India?

Hi Bermuda58,

Spain and India are not on the UK's 'Red' banned list of countries.  You don't need a house in the UK: as British nationals you have the right to enter the UK and the 'air bubble' agreement between the UK and India allows you to transit through the UK to return to India.

Hi Kim

Good job you can unpick all this, even if it’s not to your personal advantage. 🤪🥂

Perhaps not as well worded as it could have been.

Kim appears to have taken the time and trouble to assist the OP, finding a way through the bureaucracy and red tape. I merely sought to acknowledge her tenacity in assisting, altruistically, when others were unable to do so. 🤪🥂
