Was it easy setting up the Spanish account Tracey?
I think the lawyer will be helping in that as well as the NIE as we are in the uk for the whole process.
Just sitting tight now thumb twiddling!
The estate agent helped us with the NIE application though we went to Benidorm police station on our own and muddled our way through!
The bank account was straightforward and we only needed our passports
We were only there a week and did both our NIE and opened the bank account but that was four years ago and not sure if it’s as quick now!

Well the lawyer we used, with power of attorney purchased the apt on our behalf so,ta ra! now we own a apt!!
BUT.... All we have to prove it though are a set of keys,no paperwork ,no final land registry docs from the notary etc
I dont know the way they deal in spain but would liked to have seen at least something on paper,I also dont have the NIE number
and have requested it from the lawyer,,well, just to have it .
we stayed for a week cleared out painted a bit and are back in April,hoping to have something tangable except just the keys.
Your experience please,did it differ much if you used POA?
Also bank, we now have the bank account yet no cards to go with it,nothing in the post to the uk and nothing in the bank in spain when we went in while we where there.
