Hi not sure if anyone can help but I am trying to find out if all dogs have to be muzzled on Brittany ferries from the UK to Spain? We have a short/flat faced dog so a muzzle would be very difficult to fit and also could restrict breathing as they are classed as a brachycephalic breed. I am just a little concerned and wanted to know if anyone else has made a crossing with a similar breed please. Any info would be helpful.
many thanks

Hi Ray I have checked and she is not classed as a dangerous breed on Spain’s list, so I guess she’ll be ok. Thanks for the heads up!

You will need to muzzle your dog, you will find all the information on their  website regarding rules and what is required. Really worth reading before you book.

Hi,

We brought our pug over last year, and yes all dogs have to be muzzled, even a pug who looked ridiculous with an enormous muzzle and no nose for it to fit onto. However, as we were boarding a lady said just make sure they're muzzled when embarking as you are checked and won't let you board without one, then no one checks after that. This proved to be the case. So make sure they have one, as they insist on seeing the dog wearing it when you get on. Only a matter of minutes. Then the only time we saw dogs wearing them in the public areas was the larger ones.

We had a pet friendly cabin, so might be different for kenneled dogs.
