Hi, we've recently moved to urbanisation Montemar near Algorfa. We have Freeview but can't access all channels. The previous owner left a large satellite dish. We don't know whether to go with satellite TV. We had a fire stick in Algeria which wasn't good. Any recommendations? I've had a look at posts about receiving British TV but don't know what would work best. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Many thanks

It's Freesat, not Freeview.

Have you retuned your receiver? A lot of channels have moved lately and some have actually gone off. If you have a "large" satellite dish you may either need to check the signal and, if poor, then get someone to realign it for you. Could also be insects getting inside the LNB (the bit in the middle of the dish).

Thank you so much. I meant we have Freesat.

In some areas even a 1.9m dish can prove marginal, particularly so in the rain.

I have one and even correctly aligned several Freesat channels simply don't work and since the switch to HD more have become either unobtainable or unreliable and tbh I'm thinking of getting rid of it.

Assuming a decent Internet connection, and a VPN of course, Firesticks work perfectly well, as many, myself included (I have two) can attest to.

I would stick with the sat dish .Just get it realigned and tuned in. You will then have free TV
