Reckless spain
isn't spain being a bit reckless letting tourist in without tests ,they must be pretty hard up to take such risks
Most countries are now "hard up" and need to get their economies moving, the UK has a massive national debt and was around 2 trillion before the covid crisis, we also let 20,000 fly in from India even after a new strain had been found in the country, some say it was because we're trying to do a trade deal with them, it could be seen as reckless but it's a difficult balancing act.

Have you been vaccinated? Hopefully yes. I imagine that anyone coming from the U.K. will be vaccinated and retired couples who won’t be gallivanting and snogging strangers! The world has to begin to move again and Spain has made the decision to open their doors. The Brits won’t be arriving in their usual numbers as they will have to pay for each member of their family to have a post arrival test done when returning home as well as the covid test. I cannot see Boris allowing us to travel, Downing Street announced after he married Carrie Symonds at the weekend that the couple would be honeymooning NEXT YEAR. THAT suggests that they are not planning a foreign trip this summer. Why? An example to the rest of us. They plan to enjoy a staycation.
Some people will travel but the vast majority won’t until permitted. on the BBC news last evening, people were randomly asked about going abroad on holidays and the majority said that they wouldn’t consider it! I think many people are scared to board an aircraft or travel out of the country! You’re not the only one to have reservations about covid travelling.

God help us all if Boris Johnson is now the role model setting examples for the rest of us.

Most UK arrivals will be fully vaccinated, so risk is lessened, and probably outweighed by the benefits.

The risk is the Indian variant coming into the country, our commonwealth links with India, Pakistan and Bangladesh has seen a rise in this particular variant that hasn't yet taken hold in mainland Europe. As you say suggest there is a difficult balancing act here and while health is the main concern the economy is also vital.

Although it does reduce the risk, the vaccination doe not fully protect and you can still carry the virus without knowing.............All countries need to have population vaccinated to make this work. Tests should and must be compulsory.
