refubd of tax on flights
Hi Everyone,
After having had a flight cancelled, and then choosing to cancel a second because of the current situation, we decided to have a go at claiming back the tax, as we were quite aggrieved with the whole refund process for the first cancelled flight.
As I understand it, this tax is £26 per person, per outbound flight, and so we have four, (two flights for two people) . You cannot claim this until your flight has actually gone, and you then have 28 days to put your claim in?
I managed to do this on Ryanairs website, but while I printed out the form I completed, I have had no acknowledgement of any description, not even a confirmation that the application had been completed, I was just returned to the home page after submitting the form. The first flight was back in July, the second in September. I know there is an admin fee (naturally!) which shows as £17, unsure if this is per booking or per person, but either way this will be less than the total costof the tax.
I am loathe to try and call them, last time it took an hour and a half to get through.
Has anyone had any experience of this or can offer any advice?
Thanks Julie
