Good Afternoon Everyone,

My wife and I have been saving to buy a property in the Costa Blanca for sometime and look to have the available funds as of 1st Feb 2020. We are looking for a semi or detached property in an area where we can fairly easily reach the airport from buy means other than a private car as we won’t buy one till the year after the house.  We don’t know the Costa Blanca, however as a disabled military person I need the heat whenever I can and it’s been rubbish in Scotland over the winters.  We are looking for some district or town that has some sort of bars and the occasional restaurant within a walk. Algorfa? Lo Crispin?  When would you advise me to start my property search in earnest on the ground so to speak, as I don’t want to waste peoples time placing offers early. I don’t want a new build and any advice on agents would be welcome

What’s the process for offers and what do I need when? (My wife is a experienced property lawyer back home, however no clue what to expect in Spain)

Public transport is very limited outside the big towns ,la Mata could be good as guadamar as both have bus to airport.make sure you are aware of income tax rules as tax is more expensive in spain but there is a taxation agreement in place at the moment.also check because some civil services pension are different. Most importantly do not trust estate agents most will turn you over.

Algorfa is fine, it's very safe but having a car is a must. There is a limited bus service to Torrevieja that only runs Monday to Friday.

Hi, Algorfa is a nice village but you do need a car. My brother has an apartment in Rojales where you can get a bus to Guardamar and it is also near to Formentera de Segura and Benijor so more choice of restaurants etc. Have a good look round both areas before you decide.
