Hi all.

We are taking our pet through France and into Spain to La Marina.

Does anyone know of any pet friendly stops on the main Mediterranean highway between the Spanish Border and La Marina? France is no problem as they seem to welcolm pets but I'm not sure sure of Spanish hoteliers.

Any info would be a help

Kind regards

Nigel

We travel from either bilbao /santander and stop half way near zaragoza, there are plenty of pet friendly places. I book through booking.com, our favorite hotel del vino has not reopened since covid restrictions. We are trying a hotel near Utebo called hotel aguila, hope this helps.

If you have a second home in spain or anywhere in the EU, ask your vet for a EU passport for your pet  35€ it cost us. Much better than £185 for an animal health certificate that lasts 4 months.

Hi Sallyann

How long does the European Pet passport last for? It's sounds a good option.

Kind regards

Hi Nigel it is For life of the pet, it is much thicker than the UK passport. We came out with the animal health certificate, so we will get the vet to sign that also as we have paid for it. Our spanish vet has to do the rabies injections, when our dog needs her next one. She had it before we came out, but they are cheaper here than in UK. that is well worth it.

Thanks Sallyann

Thats definately worth it. Our vet is going to rob us for over £200 for the AHC. The benefits of Brexit eh?

Hi nigel, I am on way to la marina, but only 15 minutes drive. I have a place to stay and dogs, cats, gerbils, rats,  whatever, if they are pets they can also stay

Hi sorry for the delay. Thankyou for that. I was thinking more up the coast toward the French border. We will be driving down and need 2 stops in Spain before we reach La Marina.  Can't see anywhere on internet with pet friendly hotels on that coastal highway.
