Has anyone had a letter from Barclays or other UK banks stating that their accounts will be closed unless they have a UK address etc? Are there any loopholes to this issue to keeping Ex-pats UK accounts active etc?

I wonder if this is only happening to dormant accounts, not aware of anything changing recently to prompt it?

Barclays started this some three years ago and Nationwide have pulled out of some European countries, but not Spain, so far!

I still get a very tiny amount paid monthly into my uk Barclays account.  It’s not worth having it paid over here I think due to fees, so this is blooming annoying.

You may find the contents of the link below helpful. Do you have any family members or friends who would allow you to use their address? This could be an option.

I rang Barclays yesterday and have been told I can put my son's address in the UK on my account, but all correspondence cards, pinsentry if needed will go there. I have this on chat as proof of what they said if any problems. Hope this helps.
