Car seat dropped to airport for hire

Not sure about all of the airlines but Ryanair allow you to check in a car seat for free if travelling with a child. We bought a car seat bag off Amazon to make sure it arrived safely. Much cheaper than paying to hire one. 

Check the terms and conditions with your airline.

As with Shauns response. I recently travelled with Iberia and simply carried the car seat on as my hand luggage... the booster type not a full seat of course! 

As you mention, the price to rent is often ridiculous, but if this is likely to be a regular need you can also check out the cost in Carrefour as I know we purchased our booster type from there at a very reasonable rate. They have an excellent choice.

If you check on  your airline website you will probably find that as with pushchair and travel cots you just hand your car seat (even full size baby/child seats )into the designated area for handling them and then pick them up at luggage reclaim .I believe most airlines allow two such items per child .my daughter has flown frequently with her two children who are now 6 and 4 and is currently in Malta with two car seats and a pushchair the same as when she flew into alicante earlier this year .Hope this helps 

Thanks I need a case and a pram. Just read vueling  terms and they allow a booster seat but not a car seat . He’s two so booster seat no good at moment so it’s easier to  hire the car and pay extra for car seat
