Can anyone help with info? We were scheduled to fly to Alicante today from Birmingham with Ryanair on medical/compassionate grounds as my Mum is very poorly. We had completed all the necessary paperwork, QR code from the Spanish app and negative covid test - we even had a letter from the hospital.

However we were turned away!

It was mentioned that we should try the Spanish Consulate for exemption. Does anyone have any information or gone through this route.

Thanks for your help!

Sorry to hear you were turned away, i had a look at the consulate website but did not find anything helpful,  the e mail for the London consulate is cog.londres.leg@maec.es, drop them an e mail with supporting docs and see what they say, sad situation.

Hello

Here's a bit more help with contacting the Spanish Embassy, in case you need it.

The embassy of Spain in London is located at 39 Chesham Place and can be contacted by telephone on 20 7235 5555 as well as by email emb.londres@maec.es. The consular section is located at 20 Draycott Place and can be reached by telephone on 20 7589 8989.

Cheers

I’ve sent you a pm, Julie Cotton. It’s possible via the consulate

Just reading that if you are not a resident with TIE card you will be sent back on the same plane you have just arrived on

Although from airports people have been getting turned away, so far it has still been possible to drive via euro tunnel.
