Hello,

I'm experiences and qualified dental nurse. Worked in the UK for more than 5 years.

We are looking to move to Alicante. But I wanted to know what wants and needs for dental nurses in Alicante.

Do I need any further qualifications? Currently hold an nebdn

And unfortunately I don’t speak any other language apart from English

Thanks

marcliff

I'm assuming you were meaning to post something or ask a question?

Sorry but I doubt you would find work in this area. You are, I assume, a British passport holder. To work you would need a work visa and this would be almost impossible for a UK citizen to obtain. You must have a firm job offer with a contract which has been certified by the Spanish immigration authorities. The future employer must show that the work has been offered to a EU citizen and there is no one that could take up the position. Dental nurses, especially ones that do not speak Spanish or other languages are not in short supply.

Once you have the unlikely offer of a position, you need to apply for a visa at a Spanish consulate in UK which have many hoops to go through.

Sorry to burst your bubble at such an early stage but this is something that gets asked on here on a regular basis and the answer is always the same. Only those in a shortage occupation can get around the firm job offer that can't be taken up by a EU citizen and dental nurse is not one of them.

Hope you find some other way of coming over. You can, of course, apply for a non lucrative visa which allows you to come and live in Spain and then exchange that after 1 year for a work visa and be treated as a EU resident. You would need to show an income of 28,800 a year plus private medical insurance to get that NLV for the first year of living here and those criteria are strictly adhered to .

If, however, you have a EU passport (including Ireland) you can be offered a job as and EU citizen but a lack of any language other than English would be a big drawback. Even our dental receptionist speaks at least 4 languages which is what they would be looking for.
