Hi everyone,

My name is Mary and I am new to this forum.  My husband Mick and I currently live in The Netherlands but are planning to move to Spain permanently within the next six months.  At this point, we are looking for a rental property for approximately two months, perhaps from mid-November until mid-January'19, ideally relatively close to Alicante and with good public transport links so that we can 'explore' some of the surrounding areas - we prefer not to hire a car if that can be avoided.   If possible, we would like to be near to a sandy beach.  Can anyone offer any recommendations, please?

Over the last few days, I have immersed myself somewhat in the very diverse information available on this and other forums related to the Costa Blanca and I have been very impressed with the extent of information available.   I also sense a genuine camaraderie and willingness to help one another which makes me all the more eager to join all of you in Spain.  Thank you for allowing me to join your group.

kind regards,

Mary

Thank you Owen.    Santa Pola is, in fact, one of the places I have been looking at, but I wondered if it might be better to base myself nearer to Alicante - e.g. L'Albufereta or Playa de San Juan - where public transport links to the surrounding areas may be better?????    I really have no knowledge of the area, hence my previous post.     Thank you for taking the trouble to reply, I really appreciate it.   M.

Thank you for the tip, I appreciate it.  I had seen the name on the map but was afraid it would be 'remote' and too far from Alicante.  I think I already said that my husband and I hope to explore some of the surrounding areas of the Costa Blanca, which is why I am concerned about transport links, however, if those are in place then El Campello could well be exactly what we are looking for.  Now I just have to find an apartment, preferably with sea view!

Hi The Tram station is in the centre of town with trams every 20 mins to Alicante and every 30 mins to Benidorm and beyond all at very reasonable cost, also a planned link to Airport, Motorway intersection that takes you virtually anywhere in Europe, Airport 20 mins by car also a very frequent bus service to Alicante

Thank you for taking the time to pass this information on.  It is really very helpful, exactly what I need to make an informed choice on where to stay.   M
