Owning non native birds in Spain is now illegal. The law is not retrospective and you can keep ones you have but have to register it within six months of the new law coming into effect on Sep 29th 2023.

The transfer, sale and import of parrots is banned and anyone not having registered them will have them removed.

Not wishing to throw water on the fire, but having had an African grey for many years they are very sexist.  In other words, when the reach maturity they will take a preference to either the male or female.  If you are the opposite you will not get near it.  Although they are regarded as the best voice imitator birds around, they are also known as 'Sqwarkers' - and boy, can they sqwark.  Another thing to be mindful of is if they get bored through lack of stimulation, they will start to pull their feathers out and you will have a bald bird.

Please do your homework first.  Owning a parrot is nothing like you see on the pirate films!! They take a lot of work and require a lot of attention.
