The mascarillas point to indicate that they have little protection to the wearer, but have advantageous benefits to people in their vicinity, hence the wearers of essential workers to protect others. If you are in "lockdown" it is not even thought to be necessary, unless leaving the house may be a hankie (preferable) paper on those seldom excursions. Just a thought.

Unless with specially fitted filters, masked bought over the counter give no protection from Covid-19. These masks are intended to give dust particle protection not medical!

Hello. We could not not buy any masks so I made some myself. I used a pillow case and normal elastic band. After use we hang them outside and spray them with medical alcohol or desinfección spray. May be that's an idea. Stay well and greetings from Claudia

If really is obsessed in covering your mouth & nose. This idea, came from two guardia civil officers. Filter papers for coffee filters, with strings attached. Brill! For two reasons that I will not employ for three reasons:

1.I´d look as silly as RayD

2. I don´t believe it helps, (only others needed to protect others ie.services etc)

3. I use a  cafetera,

PS you didn´t tie it tight enough. try a noose.jajaja

A neighbour of ours used one of her bras, only one cup needed per mask so you get two for one, with a length of elastic to tighten.
