Jim ( as you may well know) Vaseline is used for the garage door opening silently or for..... or SEX!....... If its smeared on the bedroom door handle (outside handle).....the kids can´t get in.

@Villas - dont need vaseline on the door handle.... usually find marriage puts an end to that activity anyway!!!
Try bicarbonate soda and a solution of white vinegar and water. I find this cleans everything great, even old sunbeds come up like new.
