My pool (5m * 10m) is needs to be drained, cleaned and refilled. Does anyone know a company in or near Aspe who can do that?

What do you mean by be drained ? I can help you and show you how to maintain a pool all year long. If the tiles and joints are in good state, no need to empty the pool.

Hi, I've inherited a salt water pool in Hondon de los Frailes. It's been ok through the summer but now it's got lots of black dust / sand in it that will not clear. I could do with a beginners course on how to maintain it year round. Is that something you could do?

Regards

David

Hi

At the end of the week, I will go to hondon (El Fondó de les Neus), is it here you live ? I'm in Aspe. I could have a look to your waterpool, if not, send me a video or pics. And why your water is salty ? In Aspe, we have 2 kinds of water, and the one coming from well is salty.

Most probably, the dust is clay, coming with winds.

I live in Hondon de los Frailes which is about 9km from Hondon de los Nieves.

The pool is not salty it is a salt water pool.

Yes the dust is blown in by the wind.

Ok sorry I didn't understood. I never maintained a salty pool, but I recommand it anyway. You don't need chlore and all of this stuff, and it is really best for the skin.

For the dust, see if your hoover works correctly. And because it is salty water, it is not suitable to purge it out the pool in your soil of your garden. So when you make a back-wash of your filter, it would be best to have a special place for the waste water. If your pool is really dirty, you'll need to back-wash various times your filter when using the hoover. If you are really lost in this matter, I could come saturday afternoon, and take profit to go to the excellent green-house shop in your city.

Hi, thank you for your kind offer but unfortunately I have to go out a 1pm on Saturday and will not return until the evening.

I have tried to hoover out the sand and backwash frequently but before the hoover gets going again the pressure gauge on the filter goes almost into the red section so I have to stop. Maybe the filter needs new sand - I don't know - that is my problem.

Oh ! This is what I said you : because of heavy dirt, your filter is emptied of dust, so the pressure increase. Make a backwash each time you see the red coming. Probably 10 times if there is a lot of dust.

When you'll finish to clean the pool, you'll have probably to change the special sand in your filter. And chose the crystal one, better than sand.

And because you'll make several backwash, you must add water on your pool. So let run water filling your pool while making hoover and backwash. Verify the level of water on your skimmer. Also, another tip : close the skimmer when you make hoover, even the bottom (see your keys). Then your hoover will be stronger.

OK. Thanks for the advice regarding the backwash, but I have some confusion regarding this; the previous owner said to only run the backwash for 1 minute, the instruction manual says for 3 minutes, what is the correct time?

The pool fills automatically as the level falls so that isn't a problem.

Not sure how to isolate the skimmers when using the hoover but it sounds a good solution.

Yes I think the sand needs to be replaced, again no idea how to do that yet but learning all the time.

Thanks for your help so far, it's much appreciated.
