Hi,

I retired to Benidorm 8 years ago and never regretted one day 😄

There are several caravan parks around the Benidorm area but they are all on the outskirts of the town. There are excellent bus services in Benidorm and most sites have bus stops locally. A lot of (able bodied) caravan owners hire or buy the disability scooters to travel around from the sites to town (hence the numerous scooters parked all over) Not all sites accept pets.

The cost of owning/renting mobile homes in Benidorm is, more or less, the same cost as renting a 2 bed apartment close to the sea front.

If you are a UK passport holder do you have everything in place to make your retirement and moving to Spain? Do you know the requirements for gaining your non-lucrative visa to be able to move to Benidorm and apply for residency?

Good luck and please ask if you need more information.

Hi,

Firstly You will need to apply for a non lucrative visa from the Spanish consulate in London, Manchester or Edinburgh while you are still living in the UK. You will need to meet the income and healthcare requirements.

Income requirements for a couple will be around €34,000 per annum made up from regular pensions income, other proven regular monthly income etc. You will both need to have full private healthcare paid for a full year.

There will also be some other documents that may be required such as marriage certificate translated into Spanish etc.

If you gain a non-lucrative visa you can then move to Benidorm and apply for residency within the first 90 days.

This may help explain the process:

How to apply for a Non-Lucrative visa (NLV)

Be very careful of people offering to help with this process as not all are genuine and could cost you dearly.
