I brought one recently from a Repsol filling station. Only cost €15 and I didn't have one to exchange.

Back in the UK I exchanged one of the same size and it cost £40! Some things are definitely far cheaper in Spain. Rip off Britan.

What about the winter fuel allowance -welfare state? That is a farce... Would you rather pay less and I guess have people freeze to death😀 Not even that cold on d concrete island. Also, 15€ - you got ripped off here in Spain. Official price is €13 something.

The government in Spain fixes the price of the bottles every 2 months. This is because they are used by a big percentage of the population for cooking and heating. So  Nickb ( I hope) when you pay tax in Spain, you are helping subside this.

Where they are not used a lot, it is "market price" or what is considered a free and democratic country. France, UK, Belgium - I can go on.,

For the OP. You could have - should have  a technician come by, check you system and get the certificate. Then you can go anywhere; even have it delivered curbside for 2 or 5 years - sorry forgot the validity of the inspection.

Would not like to see or hear of a situation where someone tries to go around the law and somebody gets hurt or worse or there is property damage that insurance will not cover by a uncertified / DIY system..

Promoting an illegal activity. Cool. I hope that you, family or friends do not live underneath someone who is skirting the law to save a few €'s by not having their gaz system inspected  Nick and Steve. From your comments, I wouldn't want to live above you all or next to.
