Sad times for the many businesses who rely so much on our spend in the town.

We normally spend a good bit of time in and around Beni on our annual tour of Spain each year in our motorhome, alas not this year. How are you residents seeing things, will be a very different place when some sort of normality resumes.

Yes, things are looking very bleak for small independent businesses at the moment!!

Quite a few shop closed down, mainly the tat and Chino type places. A few bars closed up too!

I will expect a few more bars and restaurants to be bankrupt by year end. We had a wander around yesterday and it's like a ghost town especially early evening. Now the curfew has been introduced its bound to get worse.

Thanks Steve. Thought that would be the case....... sad times.

We would stay up at Raco for a period of our stay and enjoy a walk up past the hospital towards old town, across the beach/front and up via Rincon.

Times are a changing and things won’t be the same.

Everyone said the same after the financial crisis..

A lot of the closures are from bad "business" owners and bad planning.

Hi......

Perhaps that's a little unfair but there will be some truth in it.

A lot of owners will just be struggling due to lack of  numbers coming through the door and actually spending money. Some of them might be fairly new to the respective business and started the learning process only to find their dreams to be shattered. Put their last cent into the business and possibly borrowings!

I feel so sorry for the genuine business owners having to find themselves in this awful situation.

Bring on the good times.........WE ALL NEED IT.
