If I am reading this right you are asking if we move to Benidorm can we get a free house and benefits as I have no prospects of earning enough to cover my living costs

Simple answer NO

Im sorry as this seems a very harsh response but a reality check is needed.

You might consider it rude, but it's correct. To be a resident in Spain you have to prove that's you've sufficient income to not be a financial burden on the state, and you'd have to have full-cover private health insurance. The only benefit you would have is that you'd get a tax allowance for the children.

Just to add, there's virtually no council housing here in Spain, and what little there is is so fiercly sought after that there's zero chance of a non-Spaniard getting one.

Long term let's are readily available. Budget 500e per mth in rental alone. However, education in European schools is crazy experience. Usually about 700 euro per month per child as a minimum.

Spanish schools are an option but they will be taught as Spanish children. So depending on their age this could create problems.
