Being sensible and walking in the shade where possible, can I take my dog for a walk down to the local restaurant which is half a mile away.  I have been told that there is a law saying you cannot walk a dog in the middle of the day.  Is this correct

I've not heard of a law about walking a dog in the middle of the day, as a dog owner I recommend an early morning walk in the cool, and an evening walk about 8pm or later when the "sting" has gone out of the day.

Always check how hot the pavements are with your hand if it feels hot to you, then it will definitely hurt your dogs paws.

I agree with Pix Elated, not aware of any Law, it is just common sense not to walk your dog in the heat of the day as it would burn their pads.

Check ground temp with your feet, nothing on them, foot soles are much more sensitive than hands.
